Teamwork, with a pure intention to work for common goals, forms the core discipline of any successful organization. At Hidayah Foundation it’s no different. Hence the very theme of Hidayah Foundation being “One Goal One Soul”, the GOAL being “Empowerment of Women and Development of Children”.

The annual monsoon season in Mangalore witnesses the arrival of many Non-Resident members from the various countries abroad as it is the summer vacations for schools especially in the Gulf countries. This year, this season also witnessed the occurrence of the Holy Month of Ramadan, creating an ideal opportunity to organize a get together of members, both local and Non-Residents, along with various other distinguished members of the community. An event was thus organized during the Eid Holiday and aptly named “Eid Milan”

We hereby provide a brief report on the key aspects and achievements of this beautiful event.

Session 1:

Keeping in mind the busy and time-pressed schedules of visiting members, the Eid Milan was held on a Sunday, 11th Aug 2013. A key agenda being also the launch and handover of the 2nd phase of Hidayah Foundation’s landmark project, the Hidayah Share and Care Colony (HSCC) at Kavalkatte. The cool climate, with the intermittent sun and rain taking turns entertaining us was the perfect weather one could ask for.

Almost all visiting NRI and local members along with their families gathered at the HSCC Community Development Centre ground for Breakfast. This Milan was unique in the sense it was the first large scale gathering of Members, Donors, Guests and Beneficiaries at one single platform, giving each one a true opportunity to practically visualize the transparency, accountability and team solidarity of the Hidayah Foundation family.

Time Management was strongly observed throughout the event and this added to the success and smooth flow of the day’s proceedings.

The Honourable minister, distinguished guests and all participants arrived on time. The function commenced with the recitation of verses of The Holy Quran by Master Shazi Abbas.

President of Hidayah Foundation (HF) Mangalore Unit (HQ) Br.Hanif Haji welcomed all the guests and hosts on behalf of HF.

HQ Joint Secretary Br. Abdul Razak A. delivered a brief keynote address covering all aspects of Hidayah Foundation and concept of Share and Care Colony.

Following the Dua ceremony by Qadhi Twaka Ahmed Musliar, the Hon Minister Sri B. Ramanatha Rai in his brief speech lauded HF’s result oriented programmes and unique project of Share and Care colony.

It was a pleasure to have the representatives of all overseas units on the stage.

All of them expressed and shared their views from inception to implementation on HF developments.

Janab Mufti Abdul Mannan Saheb delivered his Presidential speech. In a nutshell he covered all the various activities undertaken by HF as part of “Huqooq Al Ebadah” and the distinct functioning of each aspect within its responsibilities.

Concluding the stage programme, Br. Imthiyaz (HF Mlore) gave the vote of thanks to all Guests of Honour, overseas members and their families, HQ members, local participants, and HSCC families for making this programme a grand success.

Br. Umer U.H. was the Master of the Ceremony.

Session 2:

The next session was the handing over of keys to nine families occupying apartments in the new building which constitutes the Phase 2 of the HSCC Housing project. All prominent guests and members proceeded towards the newly constructed building and handed over the keys to nine different families. All chief guests and representatives of overseas units had the opportunity to participate in this handover ceremony which was filled with excitement and was a truly memorable experience.

It was heartening to note the views expressed by some of the guests and members upon witnessing the rehabilitation of Yateem (Orphan) and Miskeen (Poor) children and women into comfortable and neat accomodations, Al Hamdulillah.

The “Eid Milan” function concluded with a simple lunch on site. We are confident that each and every participant enjoyed this quite unusual kind of Eid event and will cherish these memories for a long time to come, In shaa Allah.
