Hidayah Riyadh Organises Fun and Care Fest 2013

Hidayah Foundation, Riyadh held its Annual Get-Together aptly named “Fun & Care Fest – 2013” on Thursday the 18th of April at the Al Rushd Istrah. The event was a culmination of nearly 2 months of meticulous planning. Under the able guidance of the President Br. Abdul Rahman and continuous follow up & supervision of the Event Manager, Br. Ilyas Hussain, and the get-together was a grand success by all standards.

There was a gathering of over 1500 guests from different parts of India and the sub-continent who attended the “Fun & Care Fest – 2013”. According to Br. Abdul Rahman - “we had many visitors from overseas who travelled all the way from Mangalore and Dubai to be a part of this event. Prominent among them were Br. Hyder Ali, Chairman of Presidency Homes & Infrastructure and Prestige international School, who were the main sponsors for the event. He was showcasing the forthcoming projects of Presidency Homes to the visitors.

Also present was the Chairman of Hidayah Foundation, Br. Khasim Ahmed, who was surprised by the effort put in by the members and team work and unity exhibited by them. President of the Head Quarters, Haneef Hajee Golthamajal and Adminstrator, Br. Abid Asghar flew in directly from Mangalore to be a part of the event.

The gathering and sponsors were all praises for the environment created by Br. Ismail Kemmunje. He and his team put in a lot of hard work and exhibited their talent in putting up a beautiful display for the event.

The main program began with a reading from the Holy Quran by Master Aqeel Farooq. This was followed by a lecture on Charity by Hafiz Imran Omri, who impressed upon the audience that like Salah, charity also should be done as a group effort. This not only has the blessings of Allah, but becomes a source of immense power for the community.

Br. Abdul Rahman welcomed the audience. Br. Mohammed Ashfaq, Vice-President made a brief presentation on the past achievements of Hidayah Foundation and the recent developments that are taking place, back home. He highlighted the developments on the Hidayah Share and Care Colony wherein 24 new houses are being built in the 2nd Phase. He informed everyone that the new the new website of Hidayah Foundation www.hidayahfoundation.org was operational and asked the audience to put in their support or comments through the website.

Br. Sheikh Mansur, General Secretary gave an eye opener to the audience with his presentation on “How to Stop Wasting Food”. Being in-charge for the Monthly Ration Program, he explained to the audience how Hidayah Foundation channels nearly IRs 12 lakhs per year to feed about 89 families in many villages surrounding Mangalore. He invited the audience to participate in this noble effort and there was a tremendous response from the audience. Br. Mohammed Ali B K was in charge of the food section and had organized a very tasty and sumptuous dinner through Home Caterers. The dinner was served in a very orderly manner and the guests were all praise for the taste, quality and variety that was dished out. As usual Br. Abdul Khader Khozama, through his AKF tea stall provided a wide variety of tea / coffee to the guests. Br. Abdul Hameed along with his team was responsible for the Reception. Br. Ayaz and his team conducted many sports event for the men and children. Br. Mansur kept the audience on their toes with his continuous barrage of interesting quiz questions.

A similar program was organized on the ladies side, and this year the women’s wing worked extra hard to impress the female visitors under the able leadership of Mrs. Ghazala Ilyas. Qirat was given by Juveriya Majeed B K. Quran recitation competition was organized for the kids. The prizes for this program was sponsored by Br. Sheikh Ansar (A-1 Plastics). Mrs. Sureena Abdullatheef coordinated in the ladies side.

Lots of prizes were given away this year, there were prizes for Islamic and General quiz, Sports events and also there was a raffle draw for major prizes.
Following the event many of the visitors sent congratulatory mails and messages on the hard-work and dedication of the Hidayah Foundation members.
