In a bid to raise awareness on health issues Hidayah Foundation, Mangaluru, conducted a Health Awareness Camp on Sunday, November 9, in Renjala, Karkala. The camp was organized with the objective of providing useful information on preventive measures and recognizing major illnesses prominent in people living in rural areas.

Nearly 60 individuals including women, children and men from Renjala attended the awareness camp. Doctors specializing in fields of cardiology, nephrology and physical well being addressed the gathering.

Cardiologist Gururaj Tantri delivered a detailed talk on causes, symptoms and cure related to diseases pertaining to the heart. He advised the people to undergo health screening procedures annually to stay updated on their bodily functions. He also educated the gathering about benefits and schemes offered by the government to BPL families.

Nephrologist Muhammed Saleem extended his professional help in the camp by delivering health awareness presentations regarding functioning of a healthy kidney. He also elucidated on the causes, symptoms and cures of diseases affecting kidney functions.

A separate session was conducted for women and female students at the camp to educate them on issues pertaining to sanitation and uterine health. Dr. Ayesha G delivered a talk addressing issues ranging from puberty to more serious topics of pregnancy and child nutrition.

At the end of every session, members in the audience were given an opportunity to ask questions regarding health issues to the respective spokesperson, rendering the camp to become a success.
