INFRASTRUCTURE

FEAR, UNCERTAINITY & INSECURITY

During the primary level of operations to evaluate the need of most deserving families, it was identified that along with food and medical help there is a desperate need to repair or reconstruct houses that are dilapidated. Hundreds of houses are without a secure wall and ventilation. Most of the houses are without a toilet or toilet without walls.

Mothers and teenage girls have to live in embarrassing and helpless situations and are unable to guard their modesty and suffer these embarrassments and attacks on self-respect, silently.

EMPOWERED Generation

Concept of Share & Care Colony
Concept

After realizing facts about overall status of most deserving families by means of 360 degree survey HF mooted the concept of Share & Care Colony. Instead of reaching out families in different locations a colony of hundred families would be more convenient in view of implementation of all five development schemes in single camp. Initially planned to build 50 micro houses with all amenities including a Community Development Center to cater the needs of all occupants. First phase of our colony 15 houses completed in the year 2013 and second phase in 2014, following that Community Center commissioned in 2015.

Basic Facilities

At present 47 most deserving abandoned families from different rural areas of district are occupying and leading a satisfactory life. They are provided with all basic facilities such as food, water, electricity, healthcare, education for children and earning sources. A true example of Empowerment of Women and Development of Children thus a true sense of model colony.

Education

Our vision is moral and balanced education. Management takes enough care to support sixty plus children of different level enabling them to achieve highest goal. Facilities such as library, smart class, computer learning, and Madrasa are managed by competent staff and faculties. Career Guidance and Assessment of students is regular feature monitored by Goals & Career Dept.

Self-Reliance

Hidayah Foundation has initiated a campaign “Save Food and Feed The Hungry”. On the one hand, millions of children are suffering due to malnutrition and dying every day, on the other hand, millions of tons of food grains and cooked food are wasted every day. At the urban level, excess food prepared in extravagant parties and food wastage has become a normal occurrence. Needless to say, the next generation will follow the same customs. This colossal waste is the direct result of human error and we need to bring total awareness to save and conserve food. Hidayah Foundation, Youth Wing is planning a systematic campaign to Save and Preserve Food. Hidayah Foundation Women’s wing has taken all possible measures at the domestic level.

Infrastructure

Overall it is a model colony with 47 micro houses and Community Development Center wherein all occupants are taken care with our slogan “We do care them as ours”.

SPECIAL NEEDS CENTRE

The term Special Needs Centre is derived from the compassionate nature of humanity services towards children who are born with mental impairment of physical disability. In other words they are addressed as differently abled children. There are various reasons and causes for birth of such children which is attributed to improper care during pregnancy due to ignorance of mother who are not aware of norms to be followed. Sometimes it is also result of un-prescribed medicines consumed harming pregnancy, and consumption of foods that are hazardous in nature. Children born in abnormal conditions can only be treated with special care until they attain a kind of self-sustainable prolonged survival status.

Surveys conducted around rural areas reveals not only poverty but also various kinds of disabilities and chronic diseases. Most of the Special Needs Centers are confined to urban and most of the suffering children hail from remote areas, hence it was envisaged by HF management that a residential based SNC be established in Share & Care Colony. With the permission of concerned district authorities our Special Needs Class got established in the year 2015. A full-fledged classroom with messing & accommodation within Community Development premise is able to enroll 25 students at present. A first of its kind SNC by our community in our district, and it is anticipated that a large scale such institution is needed in long term.

Based on the humanity on this particular subject, GOK is supporting this project when we meet all norms required by Mahila & Makkala Kalyana Ilakhe. The role and responsibility of NGO is to make appropriate proposal for site, infrastructure and necessary SNC teaching staff. Therefore we solicit your all-out support in this humanitarian cause.

Research & Development

Research helps Non-Profit Organizations to design and deliver strategies that help them achieve greater objectives. According to the national social sector consulting firm, the TCC Group, in their 2011 study found that nearly 2,500 organizations suggested that only five per cent of social sector agencies are engaged in R&D activities. Unfortunately, when we do not consider R&D integral to planning, then we undermine our ability to stay at the leading edge of providing programs and services that create an impact. The social sector requires R&D for three key reasons:

  • To preserve and improve what works,
  • Expand and innovate beyond what works, and
  • Socially explore new alternatives
  • Reached out to the most deserving and were able to study their status by collecting valid data
  • Designed suitable overall development areas
  • Uniform structured approach of the project, financial and human resource planning
  • Set measurable parameters in all the five areas of overall development
  • Enabled to visualize long-term goals
  • Develop long term solution-based strategies with a clear blueprint
  • Develop coordination amongst non-profit organizations at a local, regional, state, national and international level
  • Engage and tap huge urban talent which requires a professional platform
  • Establish a centre for skill development of quality human resources through research and mass application with professional formats and a robust networking system.
  • A novel idea and unique concept to bridge urban and rural communities with accessible opportunities to seek holistic development through various programs, under one roof.
  • A self-sustainable project to support all existing charitable activities of our basic vision and mission and to achieve the long-term goal towards solutions to the key challenges faced by the Community.
